The latest mobile brand to take the Google’s Android OS brought together style, function and affordability. The Alcatel One Touch 890D is an entry level android phone with a 2’8″ resistive touch screen display. The screen is very responsive and is bi enough for me to play Angry Birds in it. I also installed Tweet Deck for Android. The Alcatel One Touch 890D comes with Androind 2.2 Froyo.
The One Touch 890D is suited for the masses. For users who would want to experience the an Android powered phone at an affordable prize. It may not have dual core processors like the high end droids have, but it dual SIM capability which busy people needed. Having dual SIM will no longer require you to get any cell booster or switching SIM cards.
Most of the applications I installed ran smoothly but problems occur when there are multiple applications running. I like the Gmail, the emails are automatically received, I do not have to done send-and-receive just like on my phone.
The only disadvantages are the camera, it’s all plastic, and the absence of 3G. A needed sacrifice to accommodate the target market’s price range.

Wow its dual sim.. You know how much would be the price range?
Its really the dual sim that caught my attention..haha.. The phone seems similar to samsung champ but its a dual sim.. Usually its nokia which is offerring dual sim feature but not with a touchscreen phone so this one is different.

where did you buy your unit, I can’t seem to find any branch that has this model. can you please send me an email? I really want to buy this phone , thanks alot! here’s my email add, tombraider05@gmail.com
Hi christopher. the phone was just a review unit sent i
n by Alcatel. unfortunately the unit isn’t available in the Philippines yet and we don’t have any info on the price also. I’ll update the post once I get the info. Or better yet subscribe to my blog to get the latest news. Thanks!
I don’t have the same home display with 3 buttons which are telephone, menu and messages. I have classical android buttons with search in google button.
Do you know to change it?
Did you experience any problems changing the display settings? i cannot change the display settings on my 890D.
I didn’t go that far when I reviewed it. I only was able to touch on the hardware and the software part not much on personalizing the phone. Which display setting were you changing?
what do you mean by classical home buttons?
when I go to Setting — Display — “Sorry application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. This is the error that I get whenever i try to change the display settings. Any idea how to resolve this bug?
We have a problem with sim2. When trying to call using sim 2 or sending sms using sim 2 while sim 1 is active and data for sim 1 is active AND voice call is priority, sim 2 outbound calls cannot connect and sim 2 sending takes about half a minute to go through or they dont go through at all.
do you happen to experience it as well?

i found that turning the unit off and on again will solve this issue. i had my phone about 3 weeks now and my main problem is the accuracy of the touch screen. when i use a stylus the point showing on the screen is way off sometimes below sometimes to the right about a few centimeters. help?
J’ai acheté mon alcatel one touche 890D à la Martinique en décembre 2011. Je recherche une notice en français afin de pouvoir l’exploiter correctement. Si vous pouvez m’aider, ce serait exquis. Merci d’avance.
