Urbanears makes headphones that fit your everyday life. With a legacy in design and functionality, we supply the perfect listening device for anyone with a pocket full of music and a wish to make the most of it. Launched in December 2009, Urbanears is a global brand that has strong sales worldwide.

I was able to get my hands on Bagis, an in-ear type of headphone. The basis of all the 4 models – Bagis, Medis, Plattan and Tanto. The names weird, but they actually suburbs in Sweden which explains the coordinates written outside the box.
Inside the box I found three sets of ear buds. Different sizes for different ears small, medium and large. For better listening experience. There also is a 3.5mm to 3.5mm adapter and I have no idea what it’s for. I would understand a 2.5mm to a 3.5mm adapter. There is also a catalog and cool logo sticker.

The specifications:
- Audio
- 9 mm handmade drivers
- Frequency Response 20Hz-20kHz
- Impedance 16Ω
- Sensitivity 107dB
- Max Input Power 5mW
I honestly don’t know what theses figures represent so I did some testing my self. I first tried it on my phone. The first thing that showed up was this.

I think the reason for this is that since it also has a built in microphone and remote and the phone is not recognizing it. The headset is only compatible with unprotected 3.5 mm standard such as iPhone, Blackberry, HTC and more. This is where the adapter comes in.

Tadaan! Just like magic, the My Nokia phone is now recognizing the earphone.

The first thing I tried is the built in remote. It says one click is for play/pause while playing a song or answer/disconnect a call. Two clicks to play next song and three clicks for previous track. Unfortunately, none of the features worked. It only worked as an earphone. I tried a couple of clicks, plugging and unplugging but it still didn’t for playing music and answering calls as well. I’ll try and borrow either a Blackberry, iPhone or a HTC phone and update you guys.

Next test is the Music Player test, none other then the iPod.

With the music player test I have created a playlist that includes songs of different genre and compared to using the iPod with an earphone I’m currently using. The playlist consists of a song from orchestral concert, an acoustic song, a hip hop/ rnb music, an alternative rock track, a heavy metal song, pop, club music and trance. Having heard both on different earphones, there is indeed a big difference in sound quality. The Bagis gave more than what the other earphone had, specially when “Empire State of Mind” started playing. The clarity of the sound made me appreciate the music more than the lyrics. I also played one of my favorite songs “Walking After You” by the Foo Fighters and I enjoyed it even more. Made me want to pick up my guitar and start playing the song myself.
Here are the other available models:
The Plattan is designed to be the perfect classic headphone with all the additional features that make it above and beyond what a static headphone would offer. It is a full size on-ear model with a rich secluded sound in a compact body. It folds down to the size of your fist and comes with a ZoundPlug, allowing for a friend to plug in and share your music.

Medis is an unprecedented experience in ergonomics and functionality. The patented EarClick solution secures the earpiece at two separate points rather than one, relieving pressure to a nearly non-existent level while keeping it firmly in place. Additionally, the Medis rests a small distance from your ear canal and therefore doesn’t affect your balance. Naturally the Medis features a dynamic sound and the sleek and minimal design that is synonymous with Urbanears.
