Yeng Constantino‘s second major concert “RakEnRol Jamming with Yeng Constantino” was a success. The talented singer/song writer/director deserves another concert. It was one of the most memorable three hours of my life. I have been a fan of her ever since she started with Pinoy Dream Academy.
The rain didn’t stop the fans from watching Yeng Constantino live in concert. The concert started with classic rock songs “We Will Rock You” and “Yugyugan Na“. The crowd went wild went her guest performed with the rock princess. Starting with Tutti of 6 Cyclemind, Gloc-9 and her very own idol, Raimund Marasigan.
I regretted that I was not able to bring my camera, I didn’t realize that I can get myself a media pass. Good thing my phone has enough battery. Yeng also proved that she can not only rock but she is a versatile singer/performer. She showcased her hip-hop dancing skills and some rapping too.
Her next guest was a the Fil-Canadian Youtube sensation Maria Aragon singing her famous version of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” and the song “Price Tag” with Yeng.
My favorite part of the concert was the re-enactment of her multi-awarded music video “Jeepney Love Story” with it’s original cast with Sam Milby sitting in for Piolo Pascual. It was well-choreographed and very fun to watch.
Yeng also gave tribute to the songs she was listening to when she was still young “Total Eclipse Of The Heart,” “I’ll Be There For You” and “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”. Another highlight of the concert was the special appearance of Gary Valenciano that got Yeng teary eyed. Gary has nothing but praises for the talented artist.
Before the show ended Yeng did a her own rendition of a Yano classic, “Banal na Aso Santong Kabayo”. It was an electrifying performance, she owned it! The song is part of Yeng’s latest album “Yeng Versions Live!”, it was first seen and sold at the concert venue.
The concert ended with songs from her first album “Hawak Kamay” and “Salamat”. It was a concert worth the wait, the rain , the traffic and passing by an alcohol rehab treatment centers . I wish I had a chance to have a picture taken with her. To Yeng and everyone behind the concert – Congratulations!!!
