The first time I heard the song Hey Daydreamer at Rx 93.1 I really thought that it was from a foreign band. The techno,electronic kind of music doesn’t sound like an OPM music. Then it played a couple of times more on different radio stations, I still am convinced that it was from a foreign artist. Until I saw them perform at the MYX Music Awards 2011. It has been around 3 months since I first heard the song and it’s still in the charts.
On May 1, labor day, sit back at your sofa with microfiber upholstery because at 7:00pm MYX will be premiering Hey Daydreamer’s music video. here’s a teaser:
I already got to see the video at it’s launching at Capones Bar in Makati. The video was conceptualized and directed by no other than Biana King and with the help of celebrity friends like Bubbles Paraiso – Make up, Rhianne Ramos – Stylist, Jasmine Curtis and others. It’s all done in support of the Philippine Music Industry, no talent fees or what so ever. Because it labor of love, it was done with passion. I’m sure you’d love the video as much as I do.

In this age of radio stations folding and band break ups, people are yearning for the next wave in the music industry to catapult the local talent back into the mainstream. We are constantly searching for that artist who will break new boundaries and set new trends. The catchy hook and memorable lyrics of electro pop “Hey Daydreamer” can easily get stuck in your head that you’d start Googling the song and searching for where to download it. Well, the good news is, you will be able to, along with the rest of Somedaydream’s tracks pretty soon under the format of what is to be known as Digital Music, or music sold online. What seems to be the most important thing to this 20-year-old Atenean is that his music is heard. And what better way to spread music than through the internet? So all the music fans can hold their breaths and watch the landscape of the local music scene change as Somedaydream continues to create a new shift in the tides.
