The North Pole at SM City North Sky Garden

Because SM loves to make kids and young at heart happy this Christmas, they brought the North Pole at SM City North EDSA. Visit SM North Pole EDSA and re-live the life of jolly old St. Nicholas in the snow village set up at the Sky Garden.

Learn more about how he makes our toys and gifts with the help of his elves. You might even find your gift here! Play with the reindeer in the Reindeer barn. Visit the Mrs. Claus Kitchen where she bakes best-tasting cookies!

We were able to visit the snow village two weeks ago and didn’t notice it. We just saw a lot of people having their pictures taken inside the village dens and so we took photos too.

It’s Christmas time once again, and what better way to celebrate this joyous season than by spending it with your family and friends at your favorite SM Supermalls! This year shopping for the holiday season will be a breeze because all of your favorite things are found at any SM Supermalls. And as part of making this Christmas extra special, SM Supermalls chose Maria Aragon, the international YouTube sensation, as the official Voice of SM Christmas.

The 11 year old, Maria Aragon has come a long way ever since she uploaded a video of her breakthrough acoustic rendition of Lady Gaga’s song, Born This Way, back in February of this year. This video has become a viral hit after Lady Gaga herself saw and promoted this video urging her fans to view it, and at present the video already reached more than 43 Million views worldwide. After the rise in popularity and fan-base that the video had generated for Maria Aragon, she was invited by Ellen DeGeneres to perform the song at her show. She eventually was invited by Lady Gaga to perform with her during her Monster Ball Tour leg in Toronto. Maria Aragon was also given the opportunity to perform for dignitaries including Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their 2011 royal tour of Canada.

Christmas at the Gardens

Celebrate Makati’s New Christmas Tradition – A Thousand Stars, A Thousand Lights. In time for the holidays the Ayala Triangle Garden is showcasing the second staging of what has been part of a holiday tradition. In line with Ayala Land’s thrust of constantly revitalizing MCBD, the lights and sound show will be a dazzling spectacle of 250,000 LED bulbs, 16 intelligent lights, 8 laser lights plus a couple of ColourBlast and ColorBlast PowerCore lights sponsored by Philips. In addition, The Restaurants at the Ayala Triangle Gardens which introduces a new an unique al fresco dining format, will officially be opened on the same day so be ready to reduce belly fats.

The Symphony of lights and sond show will run from Nov. 17 to Dec. 23 (every 30 mins) weekdays with special weekend shows on Dec 18 and 19.

Christmas Cards

Nobody gives Christmas Cards anymore. I remember the days when you get Christmas cards in the mail from a relative or a friend overseas or in the province. In fact, nobody gives greeting cards anymore. Everything is now transmitted electronically. How about the singing telegram, does it still exist? This Christmas, I was to receive a Christmas Card from someone far away, doesn’t matter who it cam from as long it’s someone I know and as long as it’s not one of those recycled Christmas cards. Cards that was already given to them by someone else and now passed on to another recipient and you won’t notice because the greeting was not personalized. Somebody send me a Christmas Card.

There are two things to celebrate this month of September, my birthday and the start of the Christmas season. We’ll now hear Christmas songs played on the radio and see Christmas decorations almost everywhere. Not to mention the banners and streamers of politicians with their greetings. Advertisements will now have holiday themes.
