The Beatles Finally in iTunes

After a long argument for the “Apple” brand between Apple Corps Ltd, a multi-armed multimedia corporation founded by The Beatles, and Apple Inc. ( Macintosh) they have had decided to put all legal disputes aside or have they?  The legal issues have been resolved, I think,  and both parties, I believe, is happy with the outcome of their settlement.  Last week,  November 16, at around 9:40 am EST 17 official Beatles albums were made available for sale on Apple’s iTunes Store. Also 13 remastered albums were released on the iTunes Store.  It was just today when I visited Apple’s website and saw their Beatles ad.  I stopped reading about NC Health Insurance and went on ahead and played all the ads on the site.  Then I played Beatles song on my guitar.

That’s just the beginning. They may soon release music videos, documentaries and even movies from the Beatles.

Lucy’s in the Sky

A Beatle song that has been played repeatedly on my iPod for the 3 days now.  I didn’t know Lucy was for real.  The inspiration came from John Lennon’s son drawing of her classmate Lucy.  Some say it was a song about LSD, taken from the song title’s initials. Last year, Lucy Vodden died at age 46 after a long fight against lupus.

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she’s gone.

Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Ah… Ah…

Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain,
Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies.
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.

Newspaper taxis appear on the shore,
Waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
And you’re gone.

Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Ah… Ah…

Picture yourself on a train in a station,
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties.
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile,
The girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
